  • Members at the county level provide direction all the way to the national organization.
  • Farm Bureau members produce most of your food and the fiber that goes into your clothes, and they manage many acres of open space.

About Farm Bureau MAKING YOUR VOICE HEARD
Tips on contacting your legislator.
  • Legislators will prioritize communication from constituents (people whom they represent) and may or may not consider messages from non-constituents.
  • Leave detailed phone messages, including your name and phone number. Include the bill number and your position (whether you support or oppose it) and a brief reason to support your position.
  • If you write a letter or send an e-mail, limit length to one page.
  • The more concise and clear your letter is, the more likely your legislator will be to read it and understand your position.
  • Always be respectful and never use threatening language.
  • It's okay, in fact very effective, to be passionate about an issue, but personal attacks will diminish your message and damage your credibility.
